    FOUNDER

    Dr. Laura Lenkey is the founder and CEO of VPEd, a forward-thinking company that uses telepractice to deliver virtual clinical training to grad students at universities around the country. With over 40 years of experience in both private practice and teaching, she’s passionate about making care more accessible for underserved communities and giving students more hands-on learning opportunities. When she’s not working, you’ll find her leading adaptive horseback riding sessions and equine-assisted activities.

  • Suzanne E Johnston M.A. CCC-SLP

    DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SUPERVISION

    Suzanne is a speech-language pathologist in beautiful upstate New York. As VPEd’s Director of Clinical Education/Supervision, she draws on extensive clinical and teaching experience. Over the course of her career, she has worked in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, long-term care facilities, and schools. She has also served as a clinical consultant, a university professor of clinical speech-language pathology, and manager of a large on-campus clinic. Her clinical interests include neurogenic communication sciences and disorders, as well as communication access for people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. In addition to her role with VPEd, she operates a busy private practice in Rochester, New York.

  • Olivia Buckhout M.S. CCC-SLP

    DIRECTOR OF PATIENT RECRUITMENT

    Olivia is a licensed speech-language pathologist who earned her Master's degree from Grand Valley State University in December 2019. Since then, she has built a diverse clinical background spanning teletherapy, private practice, and skilled nursing facilities. Much of her career has centered on virtual service delivery, where she has supported school-aged children and adults through a wide range of communication needs. After welcoming her son in 2024, Olivia returned to teletherapy — a setting that reflects both her clinical strengths and her personal values as a parent. Her areas of clinical interest include cognitive-communication disorders, aphasia, and stuttering.

    Outside of work, Olivia treasures time with her husband, son, and their Catahoula Leopard Dog, Stryder. She enjoys crossword puzzles, reading, playing the cello, and spending time outdoors.

  • Lindsey Charon M.S. CCC-SLP

    DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & STUDENT SERVICES

    Lindsey Charon is a speech-language pathologist and marketing professional with 14 years of experience helping people and organizations solve meaningful problems. Throughout her career, she has worked with patients and families while also building expertise in marketing, communications, and business strategy. Lindsey enjoys finding practical solutions, whether she is helping a patient reach a communication goal or supporting a business as it grows and connects with the people it serves. She lives in the Salt Lake City area with her husband and two children, who are the center of her world. Outside of work, Lindsey loves baking, reading, traveling, and settling in for a good movie.
